The Assayi Codex
stand in truth, not performance. you must live this life, and not just online.
our existence is not content, it is sacred. realness over visibility.
protect each other before protecting outsiders. if you are harming the community, no pronoun title and/or label will protect you from accountability.
if you are not for us, you are not of us.
we don't allow infiltration. if your presence mocks our pain or profits from our struggle or if your presence turns our movement into a mean
you're not one of us. we vet, before we accept.
we offer love to each other, especially when the world doesn't. from sister to sister, brother to brother, or individual to individual, we give empathy, check ego, and hold space.
we don't shame growth, we support it.
no dog gets left in the dark. whether its housing, hormones, mental health and/or heartbreak, if we can help, we do.
we don't step over our siblings, we lift them up
we are not soft targets. when harm shows up in the disguise of community, we call it out. because when trans people of all ethnicities are attacked, we don't whisper.
we fight back. verbally, spiritually, collectively, and if need be, we will get physical with it.
joy is our rebellion. beauty is our weapon. even in the face of hate, we celebrate each other.
we shine, and we let each others shine.
these codes may seem a bit different than your stereotypical "girl codes" and/or "man codes" but sweetheart, understand, we're not stereotypical. we're very much so different than the rest. doesn't mean that we're better, doesn't mean that we're worse. it just simply means that we have an option to choose, how, why, where, and when. when it comes to the trans community, or at least the table that we're building, in the trans community, trust me, if you have your ass a seat, you're gonna have your shit together. and so will your siblings sitting next to me. because sweetheart we're not doing this to put ON a show. we ARE the fucking show.
